Overview
Standards and regulations change quickly, especially in fast-moving sectors such as electric mobility, telecommunications and renewable energy. Seminars and workshops bring together the people who write standards, the people who enforce them and the people who have to comply with them, so that everyone understands what is changing and why.
Aaditech organises seminars and workshops that are structured, interactive and focused on practical outcomes. Through our associations with international and Indian bodies, we have helped bring global perspectives on standards to Indian industry and policy makers.
Topics we cover
Past international workshops organised with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) have covered:
| Theme | Focus |
|---|---|
| Water and sanitation | Standards for products, services and infrastructure supporting safe water and sanitation |
| 5G | Standards and conformity for next-generation telecommunications |
| E-mobility | Electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and related standards |
| Smart cities | Standards for interoperable urban infrastructure and services |
| Solar energy | Standards and quality for solar photovoltaic products and systems |
We also run seminars and awareness programmes on:
- Indian conformity assessment: BIS certification and registration schemes, Quality Control Orders and their implications for manufacturers and importers.
- Energy efficiency: appliance labelling and energy management.
- Quality and testing: inspection, laboratory practice and accreditation.
- Emerging areas such as data centres and artificial intelligence, where standards are still developing.
Our approach to every event is the same: start from the decisions participants have to make. A manufacturer attending a session on a new Quality Control Order wants to know which products are covered, by when and what testing will be needed. A regulator wants to understand what industry finds difficult to implement. We design sessions so both kinds of question get answered, and we leave time for open discussion between participants, which is often where the most useful insights come from.
Who it’s for
- Industry associations and chambers seeking programmes for their members.
- Government departments, regulators and PSUs wanting to build awareness of standards in a sector.
- Manufacturers and exporters preparing for new regulations or markets.
- International organisations looking for a partner to deliver standards-related events in India.
Our process
- Objectives. We agree the purpose of the event, the audience and the outcomes you want.
- Programme design. We build the agenda, choose the format (seminar, workshop or a combination) and decide between in-person, online or hybrid delivery.
- Speakers and content. We identify speakers from standards bodies, regulators, laboratories and industry, and prepare the technical content.
- Delivery. We run the event, moderating sessions and managing interactive exercises.
- Wrap-up. We share presentations and key takeaways with participants and, where useful, a short report for the organiser.
Standards & references
Our events typically draw on:
- International standards from ISO, IEC and ITU, and national standards from BIS and other bodies.
- Indian regulations, including BIS conformity assessment schemes and Quality Control Orders.
- Energy efficiency programmes administered by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
- Sector-specific standards for telecommunications, electric vehicles, solar PV and urban infrastructure.
Why Aaditech
- International experience. We have organised international workshops with ANSI on water and sanitation, 5G, e-mobility, smart cities and solar.
- Standards leadership. Aaditech was promoted by former Directors of BIS. Our Chief Advisor, Mr Anupam Kaul, has served on ISO working groups for ISO 9001 and ISO 9004 and chairs BIS committees.
- Regulatory insight. Our CEO, Mr B.K. Jain, brings experience from BIS and the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, and Aaditech was appointed by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency as an Independent Agency for Monitoring & Evaluation of star-rated products in 2021.
- Content that is useful. We focus on what participants need to do differently after the event, not just on presentations.
